Actress, singer, and model Lindsay Lohan is well known for all the media attention on her problems with DUI and several rehabilitation attempts over the last few years as well as jail time. Ms. Lohan's most recent run in with the law has her set to appear in a Los Angeles court hearing on Friday for a charge of stealing a $2,500 necklace last January.

Apparently trouble runs in the family. Lindsay's father, Michael Lohan, was taken into police custody on Monday night after a woman filed a domestic violence report detailing a violent confrontation between her and Mr. Lohan, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The woman who filed the report had apparently been living with Lohan, who was booked on suspicion of inuring a cohabitant and false imprisonment at the West Hollywood sheriff's department.

Popular celebrity website TMZ.com reports that Lohan had gotten into a violent argument with his ex-girlfriend and tried to choke her with a towel. She reportedly declined medical treatment after filing her report.

Mr. Lohan and his ex-wife Dina, Lindsay's mother, reportedly divorced back in 2007. He has a previous record and apparently has spent some time in prison. He is set to appear on the upcoming season of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew," which will reportedly track his progress through anger management.

Sources didn't indicate whether Mr. Lohan had a history of domestic violence, nor did they indicate the reason for his divorce with his daughter's mother.
