Lindsay Lohan's estranged father, Michael Lohan, who had been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence battery-also known as corporal injury to a cohabitant-in connection to an incident earlier this year in which he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend in the midst of an argument in Los Angeles, pleaded not guilty earlier this week to those charges in a Beverly Hills Court. That charge carries a sentence of up to one year in the county jail.

Mr. Lohan was arrested back in March when his ex-girlfriend said he abused her and stopped her from calling police. Trial for Mr. Lohan's case has been scheduled for July 5, and his attorney says he looks forward to getting the story straight as to what exactly happened at the incident.

Sources said that Mr. Lohan, at his court appearance on Monday, not only denied the accusations of domestic violence, but accused his ex-girlfriend of faking her injuries and attacking him.

One source quoted Mr. Lohan as saying, "I didn't touch her. I didn't do a damn thing to her. When we got back to the house, she was in the bedroom and I was cooking dinner when she started screaming. She was yelling 'What the f**k is this? You're a piece of s**t. Who is Maryann Mancuso' and that is a friend of mine."

Mr. Lohan reportedly has a history of arrests in New York involving harassment of ex-girlfriends.

According to police records concerning the incident, Sheriff's deputies were called to the residence because on a domestic dispute report. Mr. Lohan was arrested later on when deputies saw him walking in the 8800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, near the West Hollywood sheriff's station.

Following his arrest, Mr. Lohan was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a "a medical condition not related to the incident," according to a statement by sheriff's officials.
