A 48-year-old West Seattle man was recently charged with four domestic violence-related offenses and locked up following an incident involving his ex-girlfriend.

According to the Seattle Post Intelligencer, the man-a registered sex offender-apparently broke into the woman's apartment at night, shocked her with a stun gun and hogtied her, and then kept her bound for hours as he threatened to kill her and himself. He is currently charged with stalking, first-degree burglary, unlawful imprisonment, and third-degree assault.

The incident reportedly took place after weeks of stalking, involving threatening text messages and emails, as well as tampering with her vehicle and violent burglary.

The man had apparently dated the woman for several months before she decided to end the relationship. She said a series of strange incidents led up to the break-up. In the days surrounding the separation, the woman's car had been broken into and a potential employer received several unsolicited emails that disparaged her character. According to Seattle police, a surveillance video of the parking garage at the woman's apartment showed the man tampering with her vehicle.

Following the couple's breakup, she got a no contact order began receiving threatening emails from unknown individuals, and she received a number of text messages in which the man threatened to kill himself.

On September 25, sometime after these events, the woman was attacked in her bedroom in the early morning after breaking into her apartment. After assaulting her with the stun gun and binding her with ropes for 30 minutes. He remained in her apartment for around four hours before fleeing. Police arrested him later that week.

According to sources, the man had previously spent eight months in King County Jail in 2010 for attacking his ex-wife.
